Founded by artist Lisha Bai, Studio Archive Project was born out of Bai’s desire to connect people looking for thoughtful and compelling art with a curated selection of work direct from artists’ archives. After years of acquiring art from studio visits with friends and colleagues, Bai wanted to give other people beginning or growing their collection a way to access these often hidden works while supporting artists, giving them the majority of sale, and another avenue to support their practice.
Studio Archive Project offers a curated selection of contemporary painting, sculpture, and works on paper presented in monthly virtual exhibitions and in an ever-growing online catalogue. Pricing is set by the artists themselves, and is often lower than the commercial art market, making the work accessible to more people that love art.
Our artists are dedicated to their work, and have been recognized and supported by many institutions including the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, The Joan Mitchell Foundation, and New York Foundation for the Arts, and elsewhere. To get to know the artists on the site, peruse their profiles here and to access the full selection of curated works from artist’s archives have a look here.
