My paintings are pluralistic sites of synthesis, where I use diverse languages to mirror my experience of foraging vision, where multiple lenses are necessary to more fully see, be in, with and of our environments. I use diagrammatic languages to reference identification manuals, antiquarian prints, as well as fossils - markers deep time that are no longer visible on the surface of our world. The fluidity of the poured paint ground undergirds my mark making techniques, providing a magical and volatile environment of light and shadow. I intertwine diverse modes of rendering, proposing painting as a carrier bag holding knowledge and experience of being within and of contemporary landscapes.
